<h1><strong>Lena Einhorn</strong> <a href="main.html">Film</a></h1><br> Lena Einhorn Film is a production company based in Stockholm, Sweden. We mainly produce documentaries and drama documentaries for television. Among our productions are the drama-documentary "Stateless, arrogant and lunatic" - winner of Prix Europa Television Programme of the Year -, the series From the Shadows of the Past - winner of le Prix Aventure et Découverte - and the portrait Loving Greta Garbo. <br><br> <h1><strong>Lena Einhorn</strong> Film: <a href="news.html">News</a></h1><br> Production of Nina's Journey, a feature film about Nina Einhorn's life in the Warsaw ghetto, commenced in February 2004. Shooting took place in Warsaw during the spring and summer, with a Polish cast and crew, and the film was edited in Stockholm. The film, which is 120 minutes long, is produced by East of West Film for the cinema, as well as for television broadcasting. Lena Einhorn is director and script writer, and Kaska Krosny is producer. The film, which is distributed by SF, opened in theatres November 4, 2005. On January 9, 2006, it was nominated for the 2005 Guldbagge Awards (Sweden's National Film Awards) in the categories Best Film and Best Screenplay. The documentary on Swedish author Jan Myrdal aired on SVT January 6, 2005. A documentary film on three revolutionary women will be produced spring 2006, for SVT. <br><br> <h1><strong>Lena Einhorn</strong> Film: <a href="lena.html">About</a></h1><br> Lena Einhorn is the main producer, director and writer at Lena Einhorn Film. Originally a physician with a PhD in Virology and Tumor Biology from the Karolinska Institute, she changed professional course in the late 1980's. At the time she was living in the United States, and started working as Medical Editor at Lifetime Television in New York, where she eventually also started producing and writing medical documentaries. She continued producing documentaries in science and medicine, for independent production companies as well as for PBS, until 1994 when she returned home to Sweden. In Sweden, Einhorn became an independent filmmaker, and started making television programs mainly for Sveriges Television (SVT), the Swedish public broadcasting service. After a couple of years, she started a production company, Lena Einhorn Film. In the beginning mainly focusing on science documentaries, with time the company also started making other types of documentaries, as well as drama-documentaries. In 1997 and 1998, Lena Einhorn Film produced the two-hour drama-documentary "Stateless, arrogant and lunatic" (Handelsresande i liv), a film on rescue operations during the Second World War, which won Prix Europa the following year. The film was to become the basis for a book by Einhorn with the same name, which was published in Sweden (Prisma) in 1999, and in Germany, under the title Menschenhandel unterm Hakenkreuz, (Klett-Cotta) in 2002. Other films Einhorn has made in the last few years include the series From the Shadows of the Past, which she produced together with her colleague Bengt Berg, and the biography Loving Greta Garbo, as well as the film The Riddle of "I" and a documentary on Nobel Prize winner Nelly Sachs. Among Einhorn's most recent productions are the feature film Nina's Journey, about her mother, Nina Einhorn, and her experiences during the Second World War, in the Warsaw Ghetto and in hiding. The film was nominated for the 2005 Guldbagge Award. A book, also with the name Nina's Journey, was published by Prisma in 2005, and won the August Prize the same year. Lena Einhorn also composes much of the music in her films.
